🐾 Clear The Shelters 🐶
- Now in its 11th year, Clear The Shelters / Desocupar Los Albergues is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign led by NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal
- Every year, NBCUniversal Local’s NBC- and Telemundo-owned stations, plus more than a hundred affiliated TV stations across the nation, partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to promote pet adoption and raise funds for shelters and rescues
- Since its 2015 inception, Clear The Shelters has resulted in nearly 1.2 million pet adoptions and raised more than $5 million for participating shelters and rescues

Backdoor Kitchen Tour
A tour of 9 historic homes in downtown Wilmington to raise funds for their mission to support historic preservation of the neighborhood and improve the quality of life in the historic district. Founded in 1973, ROW is a volunteer-based non-profit composed of residents who live between Red Cross and Queen Street and bounded by the Cape Fear River and 8th Street.
On the tour, homeowners graciously open their homes to showcase the heart of the home, the kitchen, entering the home through the back door and showcasing the 1st-floor living spaces to share the history, beauty, architecture, and southern charm that Wilmington is known for.
The tour is Saturday, October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
