Building Our Future: Shelter Sanctuary
We’re thrilled to announce our plans to build a Shelter Sanctuary dedicated to transforming the future of Paws Place Dog Rescue and expanding our capacity to serve. We are at a pivotal moment—our community’s needs are growing, and we’re committed to rising to meet them.
In 2016, we built our current kennel facility with future growth in mind. During the build we poured the footers for a planned 30’ x 40’ storage building. The original design was for an open structure—no water, sewer, or HVAC—to store equipment, crates, and our transport vehicle. Now, that need has expanded. Our dogs require a secure, storm-resistant building that serves as a Shelter Sanctuary for our dogs during hurricanes and severe weather.
Facility Development Plan
- 2 floor open concept space with crates in place for severe weather emergency situations
- Mini split HVAC for climate control during severe weather
- Generator for back up power
- 1st floor storage for vehicle, lawn equipment and supplies
Importance
- Improve dogs and staff safety when severe weather requires evacuation of the main kennel.
- Ensure our dogs receive medications and special diets they rely on by staying on-site during severe weather.
- Provide a climate controlled upstairs facility to keep our dogs and staff safe during severe weather.
- Protect valuable equipment including our $25,000+ van during severe weather.
- Provide much needed storage space for important resources and supplies.
- Allow for future growth and expansion of Paws Place.
- There are a number of opportunities for you to honor a loved one, a special dog, your business or family.
- Naming opportunities range from $1,000 to $50,000

- We accept checks, Paypal, Venmo and credit cards.
- Other donation options: Donor Advised Funds, foundations, Required Minimum Distributions from retirement accounts or stocks.
- Utilize Matching Funds from your employer (if applicable) to increase your contribution.
Every contribution brings us one step closer to providing a safe haven where these animals can find refuge and comfort no matter the weather.
